Mayfest is a high fantasy role play game. As such we can take liberties with landscape and resources just as we do with races and magic. To give us a reference point we are using the current outline map of the world, countries and continents but, thank goodness, we are no where near using all of it yet. We are still exploring Avalon (British Isles).
Typically the people of the bulk of the Avalon mainland have not named the country but the inhabitants of the Dragon Lands (Wales) call it Kingland, those of Pict Lands (Scotland) call it simply Southlands and those of Erse (Ireland) do not call any land except their own by name preferring to use the names of the smaller kingdoms instead.
Across the channel is Lyonesse (France) and further to the west of there is Moors Land (Spain). Most folk have only the vaguest notions of the rest believing most raiders come from the north and north east. Many have heard stories that there are red people across the oceans to the West yellow people far, far to the east and black ones to the south. However considering the differing colours of the fantasy races they meet this means very little.

The third main map of Avalon deals with the geography. Rivers and a lot of detail in Erselands have been left out on purpose as we may well be taking liberties with these as we expand the characters' knowledge.
